Arctic Awakening

Arctic Awakening is a first-person narrative adventure game developed by Goldfire Studios for the PC, Mac, Lynx and consoles.

Stranded in the wilderness of Alaska with only his court-mandated therapy bot for company, Kai searches for his lost friend Donovan and begins a journey of discovery, personal growth and survival.

When I first saw the screenshots of Arctic Awakening, I knew I had to score this game! The landscapes and vistas pulled me into a world of snow and howling gales, where the beauty of the wild might stop you in your tracks as quickly as an avalanche!

Contrasting science fiction with wild natural spaces, Arctic Awakening has allowed me to write a soundtrack that also fuses elements. Grounding the score with folk instruments like the Bolivian Charango and Hawaiian Ukulele, I contrast their traditional tones with modern timbres from the electric guitar, lap steel and a select pallet of synths.

It’s a joy to be working on this brilliant project, and I feel privileged to be writing the music for such a stunningly beautiful game.
